So she tried really hard to get everything done last week...and no dice. So she's spent hours pacing the floor at Kmart trying to come up with some numbers that might fit together well and tell a good story. Unfortunately, no story is actually that engaging on the subject of retail in the current economy, so she's fighting a one man  woman battle against a 500 pound a piece army. They may not run fast, but they sure do weigh a lot and can sit on her with a vengeance. Moral of the story: she is royally fuck3d.

Beyond projects, she has also accepted that she's really bad at using words to express thoughts and feelings..so... she has stopped trying to express them all together, which has led to a silent angst complete with originally composed guitar accompaniment and imagined drum beats and bass solos. Unfortunately, these tunes only allow her to escape the current pressure for an average of about 3.5 minutes at a time. She hopes that with time, it will all go away. Kind of like how a broken finger will heal itself if it's just left alone (she is also grateful that her broken finger is healed)...

She also realizes that she has a sh!t ton of spreadsheets to work on tonight...so she will begin number 1 out of around 57 right this minute. She will now stop writing in third person.

Shit I'm tired.

Yo.

Everything has been pretty draining lately.  Trying really hard to work through stuff and stay positive without totally losing it. Not easy though. Band practice tomorrow should at least distract myself enough to make things good. Also...work has gotten better since there's a bit less pressure with projects but there's still a big deadline in two weeks.

This past weekend was slightly regrettable but pretty good...kinda makes u appreciate girl's night out every once in awhile. While bar hopping on Saturday night there were many choice lines...this one is by far my favorite and I truly believe it can't be topped:

Guy: Hey, do you know how much a polar bear weighs?
Girl: I have no idea? Maybe half a ton?
Guy: Yeah, I have no idea either. But sometimes you just need a polar bear to break the ice.

no joke. seriously. no joke.

Don't have energy for a playlist.....only one song...
1. Paper Bag by Fiona Apple

I'm off to DC for half a day this weekend. It's a bit of a bummer because I won't get to see ANY of my friends in DC because I won't be there for long...but I will get to see my family for a lil while so it should still be good.

Out of the frustration and ridiculousness of late has come some pretty sweet creative energy. Granted, I'd rather have everything figured out than just sit around writing song after song...but then again...i DID find a band this past week that I want to stick with. Playing is definitely a better way to spend my free time than anything else...

Playlist:
1. Yellow Sun by The Raconteurs
2. Days Go By by Lifehouse
3. The Devil in the Details by Bright Eyes
4. Phenomena by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
5. Waste it On by Silversun Pickups
6. New Ideas by The Dykeenies

In Other News: Then I guess I'll just keep moving and someday, maybe, I'll get to where I'm going.

Lately things have been semi-interesting and/or okay. As is the usual trend, I'm skipping details because (as is the usual question) really, who cares?

I'm up pretty early for any day of the weekend...but operation "clean up my life" has commenced. I'm more afraid than excited but it's an absolute necessary. Not gonna be easy, but I hope the operation is successful....

I saw my sisters and my mom last weekend in virginia and I get to see my whole family this weekend too. I miss my family tons..but at least we'll all be together, even if for a short while, really soon.

1. It's not natural to be awake at 5am. No one should have to endure that. Just sayin'.
2. My finger is still broken. And although I'm aware that I have no one to blame but myself...since I smashed my own finger in the car door...it's still super annoying. 2.5 weeks and all should be well.
3. Finally, accounting class is over. I better have an A. And no, I am never taking another course at Roosevelt ever again.

After the next two days of meetings and craziness...this weekend should be pretty relaxing. Not too related, I really want to go on a road trip. For no good reason....To anywhere....

Mixed, but Appropriate for Now:
1. Coffee and Cigarettes by Augustana
2. I Must Belong Somewhere by Bright Eyes
3. Torn Green Velvet Eyes by The Magnetic Fields
4. Remember Me As a Time of Day by Explosions In The Sky
5. Only in Dreams by Weezer

Yo.

Things in general have been okay for the most part. I'll skip most of the details of "for the most part" because really...who cares?

Saw the movie "Baby Mama" yesterday...really not my type of movie but I could see how people would really like it. Also saw "Saw II" recently ...I hadn't seen any other Saw (except for the first one). It was...meh.

My friend joan had been studying for finals and really busy since Christmas and we totally lost touch, and yesterday we hung out she gave me my Cmas present and it was the Juno soundtrack!!! I've been listening to it on repeat. It's so freakin amazingly good. Makes me cry a little...but totally in a good way.

Time for another week. Totally not ready for it.

In Other News: I like boys with strong convictions
                           And convicts with perfect diction
